The most exquisite jewelry in the world is created by hand, one piece at a time. In order to be classified as "Handmade Jewelry," it needs to be crafted by a skilled jewelry artisan using manual tools. The delicate craft of making fine handmade jewelry involves expertly controlling tools to shape and transform precious metals and gemstones into beautiful works of art. This is why those who appreciate jewelry recognize that handmade pieces set the standard for exceptional craftsmanship in the world of fine jewelry.
In order to embrace the traditional methods of craftsmanship from the past, we no longer use molds and casting to create pre-made parts. Instead, in our workshop, we bring together raw gold and platinum and create bars of precious metal. We then carefully shape these bars into desired forms, which are then transformed into miniature parts and settings. Skilled master model makers use their steady hands to solder and weld these precise pieces at very high temperatures, showcasing their expertise in the art of making jewelry.
This paragraph explains the process of creating handmade jewelry. It starts by describing how a precious metal is formed by rolling and pulling it through draw plates. The metal is then shaped and smoothed using filing and grinding techniques. Next, the jewelry is polished in preparation for stones to be set. Skilled stone setters carefully cut seats into prongs and metal walls to hold the gems, securing them meticulously. Ultimately, the finished jewelry is crafted in the same manner as it was made for royalty in the past.
In an era dominated by mass production, jewelers and model makers with exceptional skills are hard to come by. Fortunately, we can proudly announce that the traditional practice of crafting handmade jewelry thrives within the confines of the Jewelry Designs workshop. Our dedicated jewelers aspire to their lifelong goal of producing exquisite jewelry by hand, utilizing platinum, gold, diamonds, and other precious gems. Ever since our establishment in 1980, these gifted artisans have been diligently creating exquisite handmade jewelry in our studio located in Danbury, Connecticut.
